What started as a side project has gradually become my main hobby. I enjoy building and refining the setup, which runs mostly on Docker and hosts services for me and my family.

Home Assistant is at the heart of the house automation. I configured it myself to manage the dehumidifier and heater in the detached garage, control ventilation based on CO2 readings, detect water leaks and shut off the water supply, and operate the exterior blinds and garage door. It also brings together home security and monitoring, including eleven cameras and a house-wide alarm system.

The setup also includes Zigbee smart plugs and smoke detectors, BLE temperature and humidity sensors, ESPHome devices, BLE proxies, and IR blasters.

The network runs on TP-Link Omada equipment and is divided into Core, IoT, and Guest VLANs, with stateful ACLs between them. A multicast relay lets Home Assistant discover devices across the segmented network.

3-2-1 backups are non-negotiable: they protect my data and limit the impact if something goes wrong. The homelab also has a 1,000 Mbps down / 500 Mbps up fiber connection, which is probably more bandwidth than I need, but I enjoy having it.

My docker-compose.yml has grown to 920 lines :)

My HomeLab is more than a technical playground; it reflects how much I enjoy building and improving it. ❤️
